Fink produced '3 Little Punk Pigs' for the August Twelvedoors project. Best yet!
Picked up by Stencilarchive which was cool.
Saturday morning 7.30am I felt like a real street urchin spraying the door black- this was to be the base for the next days art work.
Sunday 10am O,D L & A along with their families and friends came to do the door. Mark had prepared the letter stencils which were stuck to the newly blackened door. The spray paints came out and we went for it in a haze of purple and pink florescent spray.
The letters were finally peeled off to reveal a rainbow of ability!
Group photos followed, Mick the official photographer will be over in the next couple of days to do his bit for twelvedoors.com
The biggest challenge of twelvedoors.com lies ahead. up to now my biggest concerns have been convincing my partners in work that this was a good idea and lining up street artists to give the door a good seeing to.
This weekend we have 5 children under the age of 12, all with Down Syndrome, painting the door! The children can't wait to be let loose with paint in spray cans in the centre of Dublin; the parents ie me and my buddies are a little dubious.
We have decided to paint a base coat of black/navy early on Saturday morning to cover over the existing work. We will reconvene at the door at 10am on Sunday. Mark is creating a stencil with the letters A,B,L & E in a large chunky font. The children will paint the stencil space with all the colours we can muster. The door is 6 foot 6 inches by 3 ft (irish doors are not metric!) so we will have some room to play with.
KK will film the work and take photos and we will have the official photo early next week
I am not sure how the play on disABLEed will work but we will give it a go!
Hopefully we can fit in the letters on a grid basis rather than vertically. Any thoughts or suggestions will be welcome!

Konk has a chequered history having fought the law on many occasions. Unfortunately the law won. He is currently on the straight and narrrow!
The Door is gaining momentum with requests filtering in from other street artists to take a month.
It looks like June is taken by a subversive sect of underground artists going by the name '10'.
July is marked for Will St Ledger.
August is provisionally earmarked for a travelling roadshow of artists who may be hitting the strrets of Dublin in late Summer...
Many moons ago I said I would and now finally I have got www.twelvedoors.com up and out.
I ran the idea by Will St Ledger and some of the street artists in Dublin and got a great response.
We initially did a holding door by Konk to get us going.
John Bowes cames on board for April with his Marilyn Monroe.
Each month we will have a new artist and a new door until we complete our 12 month cycle.
Over at my other blog, dollarshort.org, I'm blogging frequently during the DonorsChoose.org Blogger Challenge. Please check out this post about the challenge and how you can support the kids.
So this is my latest new toy. It's shiny with blue LEDs and all, which is always good :-]
It's a little USB media player. Basically, you stuff it with pictures, videos and music and off your 'puter. Then you hook it up to your TV and it just plays the goods. So these days, I get to watch my daily Doctor Who dose whilst lounging on the couch, with the dog to one side, the cat on my lap and the other nuzzling on the other side. It's quite cosy and homely and I'm really happy with it.
The extra 500Gigs of storage come in handy too.
I'm slightly annoyed with myself for not paying attention to the Nick gigs. Of course, the tickets for the London gigs are sold out, so I may just have to take my chances. It'll be great to actually go and see him with Mark and Sabine. It's somewhat funny to see how many of the Bowie crowd I managed to get into Nick :-] It'll be nice, a week of travelling around the UK going to see Nick gigs. I need to see if I can take the time off, but somehow I don't think that'll be a huge problem.
So off I go see Nick again... Gawd, this is starting to feel awkward. I may have to hide in the crowd.
